anchor shed to concrete slab
Outdoor sheds are great for storing yard tools and equipment out of the elements. most outdoor sheds are on concrete slabs or built over a wooden frame. to protect your shed investment, you should anchor your outdoor shed to the ground. high winds can cause an outdoor shed to blow over or worse, especially in areas prone to tornadoes.. On occasion, pavers are installed over concrete, such as an old patio slab or a newly formed foundation. in that case, the pavers are cemented to the concrete, or anchored in place. if a shed is installed on one of those kinds of surfaces, then it is ok to attach the shed to the pavers if enough room is available to do so.. At first glance you might think a concrete slab would be the ultimate floor and foundation system for your new shed.. but a slab has two main drawbacks you should consider before you make a final decision. the cost: a concrete slab could easily cost 3 to 10 times the amount of a wood floor. depending on if you do it yourself or hire someone.. anchor shed to concrete slab
If you are using anchor bolts for concrete slabs or foundations it's important to place the bolt in the concrete so it's in the center of the wall. for 2 x 6 walls, the bolt would be 2 3/4 inches from the outer edge and for 2 x 4 walls the anchor bolt would be 1 3/4 inches from the edge..
