goat barn mats
Our mini goat barn (8x12) has a wooden floor. we covered the floor with 3, 1/4 inch rubber mats we purchased from the feed store, then a nice layer of hay bedding atop. (meanwhile, the goats embellish with all that alfalfa that is apparently unworthy of eating ). we'd put down the mats to give them a nice layer to insulate against the impending. September/october the goats will go back in the barn, and some of the poultry, too. seriously, we have mild winters here near the big lakes, but when the snow hits, it can get really deep and intimidating and a nicely bedded barn is a comfort.. Our main goat barn has dirt floor. but dirt easily turns to mud when you have roof leaks. :gaah: :veryangry: plan on getting that all sealed up when it gets renovated and we sweep it out everyday. right now its used as a 1 stall horse barn (all though its a 30x40) and the rest is where junk has accumulated.. goat barn mats
We built the cutest little goat barn (see our post, building the goat barn). however, cute does not necessarily translate to sturdy!although most elements in our barn design are standing up well to our bouncy little goats, there were a few things that just didn’t work out.. every day we are learning a little more about what works for our goats, and what doesn’t.. Oct 23, 2014 - solid rubber stall mats over concrete goat barn floors, (or wash rack mats with holes for drainage over dirt floors) provide an added layer of insulation and help reduce the amount of bedding needed | tractor supply.
