Good advantages to using a plastic shed base. a shed is only as stable as the base you put it on. if you put a shed directly on the ground, it will soon become unstable if the ground becomes wet. additionally, any wooden shed is going to rot if you place it on the ground without building a base first. a plastic shed base has a lot going for it.. To find the amount of pea gravel you need, multiply the length of your shed by the height of the hole (3 in (7.6 cm)) by the width of your shed. you will need enough mason blocks to lay around all 4 walls of the shed, so find the perimeter of the shed, and divide it by the length of each block to determine how many you need..
